![]() ![]() The difficulty factor around acquiring a cell phone identity from one of these providers is probably much more difficult, and/or requires a KSSN in itself to make an account (think about this in the US, you often have to leverage your SSN to create an account). Just as clarification on this, the only phone providers allowed are SK telecom, KT Corporation, LG U+, or some pay-as-you-go service called Smart Save when creating a Nexon account. You don't even need a KSSN anymore to make accounts you can use phone numbers but again this is just a suggestion. High ping, nothing a VPN either mudfish (cheapest one) or exit lag won't solve even without one I play perfectly fine, the servers are just way better. Hostile racist I guess there must be some players like that but we found some amazing guys, one shared his YT channel where he raps and we left messages and answered every single comment even as a Latin I found some players wanting to speak Spanish that's really amazing. P2W capsules are not even expensive and they have this payback thing, where they just give your full money back if you get 28 prestige per month which you can do it in a few days thanks to music. Don't want to spend on cosmetics for Lumistones (they give a free set with stats every month) Lumistones are now part of event rewards want to upgrade them? Play the events (like MS1) Honestly not even the case (I had this idea of 02w thanks to MS1), the p2w is more like pay for convenience than anything. Often times English KMS1 players buy their account too ![]() Over the past years of playing KMS2 off and on, I've seen pratically hundreds of people buy an account and had no isssues with their account. It's a little annoying but keep in mind English is more-so considered the world language and all Korean students are taught English.Īgain, as stated before, just buy an account. It's in the same vein where if you're playing a MMO and a dude is speaking Spanish. Are there racists/rude Korean players? Sure. The high ping is always going to be a thing playing foreign games. Most people in the English KMS2 community make it through to endgame just fine without spending a dime. GMS2 really did make an impact on the devs to change their ways. OP is right there is still p2w but not as it used to be. Not sure how long ago you played but this ain't the case anymore. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them below, or hop in discord and we'll be more than happy to answer whatever questions we can! See you in MapleStory 2 :) I want to ensure everyone is aware of these facts before hopping into the game so that their expectations are properly met! It's not as bad as it used to be, but it still may not be everyone's cup-o-tea. Much of the hardcore p2w aspects of the game have since been changed over the last few years and most likely influenced by our global release changes and improvements, all used to enhance the Quality of Life of KMS2. ![]() Much of the housing is still a mix between mesos and merets, music is a bit harder to get instruments without grinding (there's no more pack like we had back-in-the-day), and the capsule system is still strong here (cosmetic and functional). The game is technically playable for free however, many things we had in GMS2 (like lock scrolls, advanced gemstones, dungeon reward extension (KMS2 only), etc.) are behind that paywall. Please replace the space with a period, and off you go~ĭisclaimer: Korean MapleStory 2 (KMS) is still a Pay 2 Win (p2w) game, compared to GMS2. Unfortunately, I cannot direct link on the subreddit without having my post immediately deleted. It has our discord link on the first page, along with information on how to get started in KMS2. ![]() The following link is our KMS2 Installation Guide. If anything, feel free to hang around and chat MS2 with us, or anything else, the more the merrier! If you're seriously interested in continuing to play MapleStory 2, then come join us on the KMS2 discord and see if it's still the right fit for you. Back at the closure of GMS2, an Unofficial KMS2 discord was advertised here and on the servers themselves, and we had a ton of people join us and keep playing the game they enjoyed. It's been a while since we've officially re-advertised our community here however, I've seen a handful of posts in the last few weeks for people looking to play MS2 in Korea (KMS2). ![]()
